RestOralase

Two voices of light. One conversation with the nervous system.

RestOralase® is the hands-on laser course of the NeuralFORM curriculum. It begins with OraLase®, a laser sequence created by Dr. Darick Nordstrom, and builds on it with the manual techniques, sequencing and dental device integration that grew out of Dr. Tenholder's own clinical experience with it. OraLase, RestOralase and BabyLase® are taught within this one course, as one progression rather than three separate protocols.

The “Rest” in RestOralase stands for restoring the efficiency of neural circuits, restoring ease of function, and supporting restorative sleep. RestOralase is a combination therapy: the laser work is paired with dental devices chosen to accentuate and extend the benefits of trigeminal neuromodulation, so the change has a way to last.

One course, one progression

  • OraLase, the foundation. The Nd:YAG (1064 nm) sequence for the muscles and connective tissues of the mouth, for children and adults.
  • The RestOralase additions. The progressive pressure release technique (PPRT), a non-surgical fascial release of the sublingual myofascial complex, and CARE (Careful Assessment, Release Enhancement), the reasoning that guides it.
  • Dental device integration. The basics of neurally derived appliance therapy, and how matching the device to the patient helps results hold.
  • The second wavelength. Er:YAG (2940 nm) on the lips and, for some adults, the soft palate. Warm, not hot.
  • A New Dawn with Different Depths. Other wavelengths and what each can reach, including 810 and 980 nm topical heating for musculoskeletal pain within their cleared heating labels.

The BabyLase add-on (infants, ages 0–2)

Not everyone wants to treat babies, and those who do deserve training in its own context. The BabyLase add-on brackets the course with two modules:

  • BabySteps, a virtual pre-course module on the neurological and functional terrain that makes infants different from the children and adults you already treat.
  • BabyBuilding, the hands-on lab, with the expanded ACORN assessment, NeoNatal ALF including fabrication, the Bebe Munchee, and hands-on instruction for treating infants in a clinical setting.

Before you come

  • The NeuralFORM Aware Series is the starting point. Aware gives you the neurology and the reasoning; this course puts it in your hands.
  • First Light, the recorded pre-course, covers Map and Order, Light, and Device, so our time together goes to hands-on work and patients.
  • Your NINJA. Optional. If you’d like a NINJA of your own, submit the provider self-assessment form after First Light Part Three, and the lab will make one for you before the course. Lab fees are paid by the attendee, and you bring the device with you to the course.
  • Your laser. Documented laser safety training and access to a qualifying laser platform are required.

Format, Tuition and CE

A day-and-a-half hands-on course, Friday and Saturday, February 19–20, 2027. Tuition is $4,250, with 13 CE hours, or $4,750 with the BabyLase add-on, with 17 CE hours.

Open to dental, medical, physical therapy, chiropractic and speech-language pathology licensees where your state permits Class IV non-ablative laser use. You don't have to place appliances or use an Er:YAG yourself to benefit; understanding how patients respond to both makes you a better partner to the providers who do. Every provider practices within the scope of their own license.

We offer a personalized registration process. To register, call Jamie at (618) 281-9739, Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 2 pm Central, or email admin@thesynergy.academy.

Looking for the November 2026 course? See the 2026 Courses page.

What you will learn

  • How to read a patient before you treat: the phenotypes and assessments that guide where, when and how much
  • The OraLase sequence and the RestOralase additions, region by region
  • PPRT for the sublingual complex, and how to evaluate whether a restriction is likely to respond
  • Working with two wavelengths, and how patient comfort guides the dose
  • Matching dental device therapy to the patient so results can be maintained
  • Treating after a surgical release: what scar tissue changes, and what it doesn't

Your credential

Completing this course is the hands-on step toward the RestOralase Provider credential. Pass the proctored Aware exam and the RestOralase exam, sign the Provider License Agreement, and you're listed as a RestOralase Provider. BabyLase adds its own exam and 10 documented infant cases. See the Provider Credentialing page for details.

Already trained with us?

If you hold a Fellowship or Mastership from The Synergy Academy, it carries over to the RestOralase Provider credential. Pass the one-time Update exam and sign the license agreement, and you're set. Trained in OraLase somewhere else? Document your training, complete the course content we require, and pass the exam. Contact us and we'll walk you through it.

After the course

Private mentorship is available to TSA members for ongoing case support, as needed and at an affordable rate. It is arranged separately from tuition, so those who don't need it aren't paying for it.

Where it started

OraLase was created by Dr. Darick Nordstrom. RestOralase, BabyLase, NeuralFORM and NINJA were developed by Dr. Angie Tenholder and are taught through The Synergy Academy.

Cancellation

No refunds within 120 days of the course. A seat may be moved to another course within a 4 to 6 month range for a $500 fee.
