The Shotgun Course has been developed to allow collaborative treatment teams to take advantage of separate learning modules (determined by license and scope of practice) to come together in a unified hands-on course to designed develop skills to utilize a common language built on understanding and guiding neuromodulation.
This course makes efficient use of our valuable time away from our patients and families to roll up our sleeves and get our hands busy identifying the critically important oral and neurological restrictions that can make the difference between illness and wellness. Bringing the benefits of ongoing continued education takes both time and a financial commitment by the provider.
We recognize that we all have different learning styles. Some learn better in a live interactive environment while others benefit from a virtual self-paced learning platform that offers flexibility and repetetive exposure to the course content.
The Shotgun course offers maximal commitment to the hands-on portion of a hybrid course delivery for those who prefer the didactic material in a virtual format. Successful completion of pre-recorded learning modules will be required prior to attending the hands-on Shotgun course to ensure that all participants are on the same page and ready to fully engage in the fast-paced yet individualized learning opportunities offered through The Synergy Academy's new Sanity curriculum.
The Sanity Curriculum Courses are three day courses with two delivery options:
Day 1: Live lecture for those who choose in person content delivery over the virtual on-demand option offered in the HOLA Modules
Day 2 Morning: Lecture material designed to provide and overview of the hand-on material to be put into action during the remainder of the course
Day 2 Afternoon: Clinical implementation and interdiscplinary team integration
Day 3 Morning: Clinical implementation and interdiscplinary team integration
Do you ever feel that you are losing your mind as you stretch yourself thin while balancing patient care, continued education and spending time with your family?
We get it...and we have a solution.
The combined power of a group of things when they are working together that is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately
This efficient day and a half course makes efficient use of time by requiring the didactic material to be completed in a virtual self-paced environment supported by an online password protected learning management system.
Instruction on diagnostic and therapeutic techniques will be instructed in a clinical and experiential learning environment
Participants will learn how to guide patient treatment decisions and sequencing by learning how to utilize reflexive, range of motion and palpatory assessments that allow sophisticated and customized delivery of patient care.
By gaining and understanding of the patient's baseline assessments and their responses to therapeutic interventions, the provider can both educate the patient and provider team on the success of and responses to treatment.
Neuromodulation involves "the alteration of nerve activity through targeted delivery of a stimulus to specific neurological sites in the body". In the Synergy Academy curriculum, this includes the use of touch, dental appliance and light-based therapies. Any intervention that affects the strength of the information transfer within a neuronal circuit impacts the outcome of treatment and perception of the patient.
A shotgun approach is a strategy where an effort to provide services targets as large of an area or population as possible.
By including as much hands-on material as possible, we maximize the learning opportunities.
The playful action of “calling” and stating the you want the best seat in the car next to the driver.
Every provider needs their shotgun rider to help them navigate their journey and have fun along the way.
In the Wild West era of US history, a "shotgun guard" used to ride alongside a stagecoach driver as his protection, keeping a keen eye out for bandits and highwaymen.
We want to do our part in spreading the word while protecting the message of the importance of the brain-body connection that is made through the oral environment
