The Synergy Academy Membership

When performed according to legal and industry standards, the credentialing process is actually very complex.  The teaching organization cannot be the same organization the certifies the provider.  In addition, the certifying organization must provide proof of mastery of content by the participant as determined by the certifying organization and their requirements.

The Synergy Academy maintains Academy of General Dentistry Program Approval for Continued Education (AGD PACE) status to provide quality continued education for its students. 

The Synergy Academy, Inc is the certifying organization for ALF Therapy providers and OraLase and BabyLase providers.

The candidate for credentialing must complete training in ALF Therapy with a minimum requirement of ALF Foundations or ALF Evolution.  Laser providers must complete the OraLase/BabyLase course.  After successful completion of both the didactic and hands-on portion of the chosen course, the provider may sit for the proctored credentiling examination offered through the Digital Chalk learning management systems partnership with ProctorFree.  Upon successful completion of the examination and proof of treatment of the required number of patients per level of certification, the candidate will be awarded certification or Advanced Certification.    Certified providers must have taken a minimum of one course, pass the exam and have proof of ten completed cases. Advanced Certified Status requires the completion of two or more courses and proof of 15 completed cases.

Simply said, there is inherent legal protection when your certifying organization is one built using the proper legal structure and on a foundation of principles, evidence -based medicine and science.  In addition, credentialed providers are surrounded by a community of like-minded and highly trained professionals that create credibility in our professional communities.

It is with sincere regret that we share that due to inaccuracies of ALF education by instructors not affiliated with an organization with published standards there is an outcry from the public for provider accountability.  This accountability is being developed for the protection of the patients who do not have access to information to determine the level of training of providers advertising themselves as providing ALF related services.

As a natural consequence of that outcry, The Synergy Academy has  been developed to honor and support the authenticity of training of our NeuroFunctional Dental Medicine provider community. The resources devekoped by The Synergy Academy have been carefully developed with the goal of supporting both the provider and the patient in having access to the information and legal protection to choose courses and providers based on what ALF Therapy, OraLase and BabyLase are and were always meant to be.

We are very sorry to hear that the ALF appliance has been utilized in ways that it was never designed to be used.  

We regret to hear that patients who wanted to receive care based on the promises of ALF but were mislead by those who did not have access to the priniciples, procedures, techniques and technology offered throughthe inconsistencies associated with ALF Therapy provider training. 

We are dedicated to providing a safe haven for providers searching for ways to improve their understanding of ALF Therapy and their level of patient care.  

We invite those interested in beginning or continuing their ALF Therapy journey to partner with the organizations designed to honor the legacy of Dr. Darick Nordstrom while implementing the clinical tools developed to support it.

Should you decide to share patient information for the purpose of learning, the responsibility lies on you and your practice to obtain the proper HIPAA consent for sharing information with our teaching organization as well as future providers for the sole purpose of learning .Our organization does not does not allow our providers to use any of the patient information that we share with them for learning purposes.
